"Worship is my Battle Cry...."
I actually wrote a song once called "Battle Cry." Very significant, God-inspired prayer-to-music type of thing, that is still a profound part of my daily life and my worship. How easy it is to forget sometimes that we are in a BATTLE ZONE. Our thoughts, our fears, even our dreams can be so easily swayed if we do not "guard the deposit" that has been given to us....
The thing that is so striking to me is that by simply offering my body, my thoughts, my life to Jesus, as an instrument of righteousness, I am doing WARFARE. By offering my body as a living sacrifice, I am worshipping God, and when I am worshipping God, I am doing BATTLE. Powerful. I am no Greek scholar, but I did have a really impactful experience with my concordance once, regarding that whole passage in Romans 6 (don't have my Bible right now, but I think it's verses 12 and 13). In presenting the parts of your body to sin, you become an instrument of wickedness. "Instrument" in this case refers to a weapon of warfare. That's right. By choosing to sin, I am simultaneously becoming a weapon in the enemy's hand. But presenting the parts of my body in submission to God, and not to sin, I become a weapon in His hand! It is a crushing blow to the enemy every time I CHOOSE GOD. Oh yeah...feasting on the Father's will....
All battle stuff aside, it is also just way more fun and life-giving to submit to God. So there's that, too.... But it is pretty exciting to think about the damage we can do to the enemy's camp when we follow God. Let WORSHIP be our battle cry....

The worshippers always went ahead in battle, didn't they? That seems fairly significant to me. :)
