I have been thinking a lot about what it means to be a REAL disciple of Christ in the world today. To follow His ways unashamedly and in all passion and truth. Because some people (well, a LOT of people) think that Christians are dogmatist bigots. And, according to the status quo, let’s face it—we are. When people have not experienced the LOVE of Jesus, how can they embrace His truth? His truth IS love, of course, but unfortunately we don’t always communicate that.
Did you know that every trace of “religion” is being removed from our school system in the name of “freedom?” How is it freedom to be completely void of any sort of values? It’s one thing to give equal time to other beliefs in the school, but it’s quite another to remove these values altogether.
I don’t know how to “wrap this up.” So I’m going to leave it here for now. In a few short years, I will be educating other people’s children. I guess I’m a little freaked out. What makes me REAL—what makes me alive is the Spirit of God within me. We’ve got to be real and to speak the truth, but above all we must love. There’s so much to say, but I can’t find the all words.
