What does it mean for Christians to be "relevant" to the world? Does it mean we should embrace a life of compromise and watered-down "tolerance?" I don't think it does.
I think Jesus was downright bold when it came right down to it. He said some pretty offensive things to some people. And yet, they were just the things that those people needed to hear. Are we afraid sometimes of coming off like fundamentalists, and so rather than "speaking the truth in love," we clam up and sputter out whatever politically correct-ed, broadly spiritual ("not religious!") jargon we can get away with? We congratulate ourselves for "getting in" some words about our "faith," or mentioning the name of God in daily discourse, but at the end of the day, have we left the true mark of Jesus behind us? Do people know us for: our love, or our objectivity?
Somehow we must learn not only to speak the truth, but to be the truth, unashamedly and with all compassion and grace.
These are the things I wrestle with, and this written "butt-kicking" may be only for my own benefit. I just thought I'd share it with you. Any thoughts?

Hey, you have a great blog here! I'm definitely going to bookmark you!
I have a faro airport car hire site/blog. It pretty much covers faro airport car hire related stuff.
Come and check it out if you get time :-)
Wow. Um, those weren't necessarily the thoughts I was hoping to hear... but thanks.
I wish I knew the answer to that question.... Manager! I demand a refund.
Hey Jules,
Inside the Blogger server you can click on "Settings" for your own blog.
Then click on "Commenting", and scroll down till you see "Comment Verification?" and click the "yes" box.
Then you'll see in the comments on your blog a little box that says "type the letters you see to leave a comment" -- this might seem like a pain in the patookus at first, but it stops (almost completely) the comment spam.
Your recent posts ROCK. I love your single-hearted devotion to Jesus.
Thank you, "robbymac." I'm going to go ahead and follow your advice. The SPizAM is getting out of hand these days! I love how most of the comments are followed by, "What a great blog you have here." Puh-lease. :)
