I got my first fulltime paycheck yesterday. And might I just add, "Praise Jehovah". It really goes to show you, though, how clueless I am with regard to finances/ budgeting. In the same way that I flipped after paying tuition last January, wondering "where all the money went", I have been working a pretty steady work week these days, and yet was shocked to receive such "generous compensation". You know what though? It's a number on a piece of paper- and objectively, not a very large one. I am simply unacquainted with this concept; it has been a while. I can't help but realize how amazing God's provision is regardless of what it says on the paystub. A mere couple weeks ago, I was desperate for a pair of work pants that would fit me properly. I wanted to go shopping, but as it turned out, did not receive any holiday pay for my Alaskan excursion. So I continued to wear my baggy capris- the ones with "no bum", and that pull right off without any of that superfluous unzipping/ unbuttoning nonsense- while covering up with a work smock. And then all of a sudden, I was given a huge garbage bag full of elegant "hand-me-downs", through a friend of a sister-in-law of a friend, and everything fit me perfectly! I have 4 new pairs of pants, 3 skirts, a jacket, and 2 T-shirts. You see? God provides! I love it.
P.S. MacKenzie is coming along very well in our rehabilitation/ Dog Whispering sessions. He drops his soggy chew sticks in front of me now- a humble offering to the "alpha dog".
