Ever noticed how your stories get shorter with time? I mean, the stories that at one point were "long and complicated" seem to just simplify as you heal and mature. Where once, it took painstaking caution and restraint to convey a grievous or emotional situation, it can now be summed up in a few succinct words or phrases. "God gave me strength." "I am so glad I'm over that one." "I learned a valuable lesson..."
He really does give us beauty for ashes. My feeble offering of pain is transformed into a beautiful crown of strength.

The Three Question Personality Test
Okay, they sort of got me. But I'm not like an absolute brainiac snob or anything! (And I do NOT spend most of my weekends thinking or learning! Come on...)Your Personality Is
Rational (NT)
You are both logical and creative. You are full of ideas. You are so rational that you analyze everything. This drives people a little crazy!
Intelligence is important to you. You always like to be around smart people. In fact, you're often a little short with people who don't impress you mentally. You seem distant to some - but it's usually because you're deep in thought. Those who understand you best are fellow Rationals. In love, you tend to approach things with logic. You seek a compatible mate - who is also very intelligent. At work, you tend to gravitate toward idea building careers - like programming, medicine, or academia. With others, you are very honest and direct. People often can't take your criticism well. As far as your looks go, you're coasting on what you were born with. You think fashion is silly. On weekends, you spend most of your time thinking, experimenting with new ideas, or learning new things.

I hunger for some music that can move me
Some poetry or sound that can feed my soul
Some undiscovered key into my psyche
Most everything I listen to leaves me cold
Some new sound from heaven; Something for the pain
Some unearthly rhythm pulsing, pounding pure
Chasing spirits fallen, calling out Your name
Winging accidental joy if not a cure
Imagine . . .
Imagine a sound that could waken the hope of the broken
Imagine a song that could take you to worlds never dreamed of
A singular note that could fill a cold heart with emotion
Imagine a new song Imagine a new song
~Andrew Smith
This song hit me powerfully last night, and I realized that it sums up exactly where I stand with music these days. It's been on endless repeat in my car stereo.
